Tribute to Thomas Anders

«Songs Forever»

Those who expect something in "MT" style would be disappointed. The new album is different, completely different. And Thomas Anders is different as well. He has arranged and performed afresh 13 hits of 80-s, starting from "Some people" and "For your eyes only" up to "Come back and stay". "I have chosen my especially favorite songs from the decade, which has influenced my life mostly; I mean, from 80-s", - he says.

"The selection of the songs was Teamwork. I invited my best friends to the quiet dinner at home, and engaged them into the conversation about their favorite songs. The high spot of the program was that I have marked all suggestions on a small sheet of paper, which I had carried in my notebook for weeks. So, that’s how I made sure that my way was correct".

Thomas together with famous producers Reinhard Besser and Peter Ries and with the arranger Achim Brochhausen, who have been working together for many years, has created an ace-high album. The four creative personalities could manage to discover its amazing variety of sides. Thomas Anders: "It was unusual for me, for example, to perform a rock-ballad "Is this love" of rock-band "Whitesnake". Originally it sounds quite inquiring and disappointing, but we imparted a tenderness and sensibility to it.

During the selection of the most beautiful songs of 80-s I have recollected the dancing hit "Tell it to my heart", which was not appropriate for my musical program. However, this song still could give me no rest, and I decided to turn it to the ballad. I think that because of such a method the musical quality of this song could truly be shown”. “Songs forever” is the most personal and heartfelt album of Thomas Anders.

"I’m a great fan of Lisa Stansfield. We performed her debut hit "All around the world" in "bossa nova" style. And this style could keep its charm and imparted a brand-new sounding to it, although before it was inspiring but melancholic a bit".

However, the most personal song of this album is "Have I told you lately". During its recording in the studio it took on special significance for me, making me reflect on when did I tell my wife "I love you" lately? Not the same "I love you", that I say while running, putting on my coat, looking for the car keys and closing the door! I mean the words, full of deep respect and admiration: "I love you! You are the best, thank you for coming into being!"

The acoustic instruments, the first-class musicians of Warsaw symphonic orchestra, the orchestra of Babelsberg film studio, and the wonderful voice that realized all its possibilities are guaranteeing the amazing musical and emotional experience. And all those who have expected Modern Talking would be consoled by the old song of the super-popular duo, which was included in Thomas’ Top-13. Thomas has also changed this song, and now he’s performing it in quite different way.
